As we get closer to the trade deadline, the Jimmy Butler saga has become one of the biggest stories in the NBA. The latest developments regarding this situation has been centered around a possible suspension.

All the reporting regarding Butler has stated he would like to be moved before the February 6th deadline. He's remained on the court for Miami, but has far from played at a level we're accustomed to seeing. Butler has failed to crack double-digits in his last two games, scoring just nine points against the Pelicans and Pacers.

Following these lackluster showings, people within Jimmy Butler's camp have stated that the Heat threatened to suspend the All-Star forward. However, the organization has responded stating such accusations are false.

It appears the relationship between player and team continues to deteriorate with each passing day. Originally, the Heat put out a statement saying they have no plans on trading Butler. However, they might be forced to have a change of heart.

As of now, there is no telling how this situation will end. If Miami does plan to move on from Butler, they have just over a month to do so. Teams are reportedly interested in acquiring him, but it all comes down to the front office's willingness to do business.

NBA insider claims Jimmy Butler wants to play anywhere but the Miami Heat

Early on in this saga, Jimmy Butler gave the Miami Heat a list of teams he prefers to end up on. Among those mentioned were the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns. Recently, Butler has decided to broaden his horizons.

On Thursday night, NBA insider Shams Charania put out a new report regarding Butler and the Heat. He cited that Butler told the organization he wants to be anywhere but Miami. However, he still plans on being with the team while a deal is sorted out.

"Six-time All-Star Jimmy Butler has indicated to the Miami Heat he wants the team to trade him, league sources told ESPN.
Butler does not plan to furnish the Heat with a list of favored destinations, sources told ESPN. He is open to playing anywhere other than Miami and believes he can make any team a contender -- no matter where he is moved."

This report comes on the heels of Butler stating he's lost his joy playing basketball and doesn't think he'll find it again with the Heat.

It's evident things have unraveled between star player and organization. The relationship doesn't look like it's mendable, which leaves the Heat with minimal options outside of trading Butler. They could roll the dice and keep him, but it could result in a massive distraction on and off the court for months to come.
