Michael Jordan's ex-teammate Ron Harper doesn't care about Caitlin Clark & Taylor Swift's viral meetup

The Caitlin Clark effect has been on full display over the past year or so. However, if there's someone who's even more famous right now, that's most definitely Taylor Swift.

That's why cameramen didn't waste a single opportunity to show both of them hanging out at the Kansas City Chiefs' playoff game.

However, former NBA champion Ron Harper clearly didn't care about that, and he just wanted to watch the game. When former NFL star Robert Griffin III shared a pic of the two together, Harper hit back at him right away.

"Who cares," Harper asked, emphatically.

While Harper may not care for the sight of Swift and Clark at a game, the sporting world was buzzing. The presence of Swift at NFL games has been a big story and cameramen don't miss any opportunity to point the camera at the pop music icon.

Truth be told, Harper does have bigger things on his mind right now. For starters, his older son, Ron Harper Jr., just got a two-way contract with the Detroit Pistons.

The Rutgers star grew up idolizing Rip Hamilton and watching the Pistons up close, as his father was an assistant coach when he was a kid. That's why it's been such a surreal and cool experience for him.

“Those are like my first core basketball memories,” Harper Jr. told the media at the Pistons' practice facility in New Center on Jan. 14. “When I think about my first time playing basketball, being around basketball, I think about being around that group.

"I remember going on that team plane, going to the hotel, all the guys that embraced me, guys like Chauncey (Billups), guys like Rip, Ben (Wallace), a lot of guys you see on the wall right there with their numbers on the wall. Those are like my OGs when I was a little kid. Seeing it now, I’m with the Detroit Pistons and it’s just crazy.”

Harper Jr. went undrafted in 2022 and has had brief stints with the Toronto Raptors and their G-League affiliate.

He also played for the Boston Celtics' G-League affiliate before getting this opportunity, and while cracking the Pistons' star-studded backcourt rotation won't be easy, all he needs is a chance.

If that wasn't enough, the Harpers will most likely have another representative in the league next season.

Dylan Harper has emerged as a potential top-three pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, leading Rutgers with Ace Bailey and turning heads as a dynamic playmaker and scorer.

They will have some big shoes to fill, though, as Harper has five NBA championship rings to his name.
