Lillard also had a tough night in the loss. The usually sharpshooting guard tallied 16 points, making 6 of 18 shots, including 2-for-9 from deep.

Golden State raced to a 15-3 lead behind its superb shooting from deep. Milwaukee tightened its defense and leaned on a balanced attack to cut the deficit to 32-27 at the end of the first quarter.
The Warriors took control of the game by clamping down on defense in the second quarter. They held Milwaukee to 17 points while scoring 26 to take a 58-44 halftime lead. Quinten Post and Brandin Podziemski combined for 22 points, five rebounds and two assists in the first half to lead the home team.
The Bucks turned the game around by dropping a 25-9 run in the first nine minutes of the third quarter. Kyle Kuzma and Brook Lopez led the offense while the defense forced seven turnovers. Milwaukee shot 6-for-9 from deep during the decisive stretch.
The Dubs ended the period with 10 errors, a key reason Milwaukee inched within 78-76 heading into the fourth quarter. Jimmy Butler coaxed a foul out of AJ Green and made three free throws to keep the home team in the driver’s seat.
