The Milwaukee Bucks seemingly took a jab at the NFL's Baltimore Ravens following their marginal loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday to kick off the NFL 2024 season. The Bucks' X handle seemingly referenced Kevin Durant's infamous Game 7 shot against them in the 2021 NBA playoffs to compare with the Ravens' close-call loss.

"Game of inches. 👟" Bucks tweeted.

Though both games are of different sports, their conclusion came down to a few inches of the players' shoes. Thursday's NFL game featured the Ravens' Isaiah Likely catching the game-tying touchdown pass in the final seconds of the game. However, his toe was slightly on the line of the endzone, resulting in an out-of-bounds call and a 27-20 victory for the Chiefs.

This was similar to the Milwaukee Bucks' Game 7 matchup against the Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference semifinals of the 2021 NBA playoffs. In the game, Kevin Durant hit a seemingly game-winning three-pointer in the final seconds. However, upon review, his toe had slightly crossed the arc which led to the shot being discounted to a two-pointer instead, tying the game at 109-109.

The Bucks went on to win the game 115-111 in overtime to advance to the Conference Finals. They went on to clinch the franchise's second NBA championship, 50 years after previously winning it in 1971.

Former NBA champion seemingly discredits Milwaukee Bucks' 2021 title

Featuring in an interview with 'The Post' in June, former NBA champion and Dallas Mavericks player Markieff Morris made a claim about the Milwaukee Bucks' 2021 championship. Morris claimed that the Bucks would not have won the title if not for Kyrie Irving's injury during their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Brooklyn Nets in 2021.

"If Giannis ain’t put his foot under Irving, they would’ve had a championship," Morris said. "Milwaukee would still be without a championship."

Morris doubled down on his claim and said that the Nets would have swept the Bucks if not for the injury.

“I know so. They were going to get swept. They know that. You can ask anybody on their team,” added Morris.

Kyrie Irving was ruled out for the remainder of the series due to injury after he landed awkwardly on Giannis Antetokounmpo's foot in Game 3. The Bucks were behind 0-2 in the series ahead of Irving's injury and went on to recover the series and defeat the Nets by the slightest margin in the following five games.
