Heading into the game against the Pelicans, the Grizzlies were still winless in the NBA Cup dating back to last year. However, that all changed when they beat New Orleans 120-109, to notch their first Cup win ever.

Ja Morant took care of business for the Grizzlies as he led his team with 27 points, seven assists and three steals. Two other Memphis players scored 20 or more points to help Morant on the offensive side of things. Jaren Jackson Jr. added 23 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and one steal. Santi Aldama, on the other hand, put up 20 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Unfortunately for the New Orleans Pelicans, the absence of Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson took a toll on them. CJ McCollum rose to the occasion and scored 30 points as he attempted to keep his team alive.

The Memphis Grizzlies will now prepare to take on the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. It'll be an interesting matchup to watch, especially since both teams are currently on a winning streak. The Pacers are on a three-game winning streak, while the Grizzlies have five straight wins now after beating the Pelicans.
