NBA legend and TNT analyst Charles Barkley may already be 59 years old. But according to Barkley, he is still considering getting his first tattoo. Barkley explained his thought process during a recent episode of his podcast “The Steam Room,” with "NBA on TNT" co-host Ernie Johnson Jr.
“I will tell you this. I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo,” Barkley started.
Barkley then added that he wants the tattoo to be sentimental and honor his late family members:
“My grandmother, my mother, two brothers and my dad. Just something to remind me of them at all times."

However, Barkley also added that pain tolerance will be a big factor in deciding where he gets the tattoo done.
“But, number one, I don’t want it to hurt,” Barkley continued.
“It does,” Johnson quickly responded.
“I don’t want to be in pain, Ernie,” Barkley responded.
Johnson then added that he can speak from experience as he has a tattoo:
“I can speak from experience, it hurts. Momentarily."
“You got a tattoo?” Barkley responded in surprise.
“I got a tattoo. Right here on my left arm,” Johnson answered.
Barkley then added that he has to find a place on his body that will be least painful to get a tattoo.
“Yeah, I just got to figure out where something don’t hurt,” Barkley said.
“It depends where you have it done,” Johnson responded.
Barkley then made one of his typically humorous remarks by suggesting that he could get a tattoo on his butt:
“I wonder, my a** is so big, I don’t think it’d hurt."
Johnson then took the opportunity to roast Barkley:
“There’s not enough ink. Print the Bible on that thing."
Barkley joked that he could get his late family members' entire names tattooed on his butt:
“I can get like name, middle initials and everything.”
If indeed Charles Barkley is serious about getting a tattoo, it looks like NBA fans can expect to hear yet another entertaining story from Barkley.
Charles Barkley on if he’s ever seen a fan tattoo of himself in person
As for why Charles Barkley started talking about his desire to get a tattoo, it had to do with a fan question.
“He’s (the fan) getting a Charles Barkley tattoo because he’s a huge Suns fan and asked if Charles has encountered any other Barkley tattoos,” Ernie Johnson said.
Barkley hesitated to answer, to which Johnson replied:
“Just answer no, unless you’re trying to make something up."
However, Barkley then concluded that he has in fact never seen a tattoo of himself in person.
“I’m trying to think. You know, actually, I’ve never seen another Barkley tattoo."
