Fox Sports personality Joy Taylor shared an update on her situation amid the ongoing fires throughout the area. As fires across the greater LA area have continued to wreak havoc on the region, more and more people are being encouraged to flee, with the latest reports indicating that nearly 200,000 people have been told to evacuate.

Fortunately for Taylor, the fires haven't impacted her area yet. In a post on her Instagram story, Taylor shared an update on the situation, writing that she is safe. However, the scenes out of the greater LA area are, in fact, just as bad as they appear online.

Taylor wrote, in part: "To everyone reaching out, I am safe and grateful. BUT the situation is as dangerous and bad as it looks. My heart is broken for the 5 people who lost their lives in this tragedy."

With the wind continuing to rip through the area and various blazes around the city continuing to spread, those in the region are preparing for things to get worse before they get better.

Looking at how the fires across the greater LA area referenced by Joy Taylor have impacted the NBA community

As the LA wildfires continue to spread, more and more areas are being impacted. Because of that, coaches Steve Kerr and JJ Redick have directly been affected, with Kerr's mom forced to flee her home and Redick and his family reportedly losing their home.

Additionally, Kawhi Leonard missed Wednesday's game between the Clippers and the Nuggets to be with family members who were impacted by the situation.

Leading up to the game, Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone spoke with media members, saying that guard Russell Westbrook's family hasn't been directly impacted; however, since then the fires have spread across LA, a city Westbrook has continued to give back to throughout his career.

As the fires rage on, NBA insider Shams Charania reported today that the league postponed Thursday night's Lakers-Hornets game scheduled to take place at Crypto.com Arena.

Additionally, the league is expected to continue to monitor the situation between now and Saturday, when the Lakers host the Spurs and the Clippers host the Hornets. If things don't improve, the NBA may be forced to postpone those games as well.
