Dennis Schroder's story is one-of-a-kind, and with the help of the Brooklyn Nets, he's getting the opportunity to tell it. The Nets released a short film entitled 'From Braunschweig to Brooklyn', starring the point guard and detailing his journey from Germany to the NBA.

The Brooklyn Nets shared the documentary on their YouTube channel on Monday, October 28. The documentary tells the story of Schroder's upbringing and his path to becoming an NBA star. He was the No. 17 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and is now with his seventh NBA team in Brooklyn.

The Toronto Raptors traded Dennis Schroder to Brooklyn on the trade deadline last season. He has appeared in 29 games for the Nets, notching 25 starts. So far, the point guard has played for the Nets, Raptors, Atlanta Hawks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets.

As far as his personal life is concerned, Dennis and Ellen Schroder got engaged in 2018 and then married in 2019. They met in Germany and maintained a long-distance relationship during the early years of Schroder's NBA career.

Dennis Schroder shines in Nets' first win

On Sunday, October 27, Brooklyn secured its first win of the season, starting their home schedule on a positive note. The Nets topped the Milwaukee Bucks 115-102 to move to 1-2 on the season.

Dennis Schroder shined in the home opener, posting 29 points on 8 of 15 shooting, connecting on five of his eight 3-point attempts. He dished out six assists and grabbed four rebounds in the win.

The 31-year-old guard is off to a strong start this season, averaging 20.7 points, 6.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds, shooting 46.5% from the field and 55.6% from beyond the arc.

Schroder is carving out a starting role on a Brooklyn team searching for a new identity. The 12th-year guard is proving his value to contending teams who could look to trade for the veteran.
