Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves have continued to struggle this season. After a breakout season in which the team made the playoffs, optimism in Minnesota was high heading into the offseason. When the franchise traded for Rudy Gobert, analysts questioned whether or not the three-time Defensive Player of the Year and Towns would be a good fit.
With two of the biggest centers in the league, things were going to either go very well or very tragically for the Timberwolves. So far this season it has been the latter, with the team posting a mediocre 5-8 record. The Timberwolves have the second-worst record in the Western Conference after 13 games.
In a recent episode of Lowe Post, Zach Lowe, a long-time analyst, took a dig at Towns' performance this season, saying:
"Karl Anthony Towns, he'll scream, leads the league in screaming, I got it I got it and then not getting it that's like the Karl Anthony Towns on the defense, 'I got it Rudy,' and then another player comes in and gets it. I'm starting to get worried."

According to him, Karl-Anthony Towns does lead the league in one category: screaming.
He continued, referencing some of the comments coming out of the Timberwolves camp regarding the state of the team.
"You throw in the media comments that have been made publicly and some of the stuff you're hearing about what's going on behind the scenes it's like oh my God maybe Utah, the luxury of owning all these picks from other teams is you've sold short on multiple other teams maybe we can just keep winning."
The comments, which came during a recent episode of The Lowe Post, can be seen in their entirety below. The comments about Karl-Anthony Towns can be seen shortly after the 34-minute mark.
Can the Minnesota Timberwolves salvage this season? What needs to be done?
As is the case with the LA Lakers, the Minnesota Timberwolves still have time to salvage this season. So far, the team has yet to find a lineup where things click. Whether head coach Chris Finch has Gobert and Towns on the floor together or split up in different rotations, nothing has worked so far.
Minnesota is a 'middle of the pack' team in nearly every category, according to the numbers. The team does not stand out in any category, from points per game to field goal percentage. The only area in which the team struggles is beyond the arc, where they have one of the lowest three-point shooting percentages.
The Timberwolves' problems have been blamed on their locker room, despite the lack of obvious struggles in the numbers. Anthony Edwards was recently seen standing completely motionless throughout an entire game. Even though it was only one game, Edwards' recent comments have raised eyebrows.
Following a recent game, Edwards seemed to subtly throw shade at center Rudy Gobert for clogging the lane. The young star explained that he doesn't have the same opportunities to dunk as he did in years past. Although he didn't name-drop Gobert directly, an inability to space the floor with Gobert has been a recurring talking point in recent years.
