Charles Barkley was one of the best players in the NBA during his career and has become one of the bigger media personalities thanks to his work as part of the TNT pregame crew alongside Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O'Neal. However, he isn't free from criticism, especially from fellow former players.
On Thursday's episode of the Road Trippin' podcast, Allie Clifton, Channing Frye, Kendrick Perkins and Richard Jefferson discussed comments made by Los Angeles Lakers head coach J.J. Redick about how the NBA needed to "sell the game" to their audience.
The conversation then focused on Barkley and other analysts and how they deliver their opinion on TV.
"If you turn on any show, and the people that are hosting the show, pregame or halftime, are saying they don't want to watch this, this is trash, " Jefferson said, "That is their opinion, I support their opinion. But if your job is to sell the product, you are doing a s****y job selling the product."

As the crew's time with TNT comes to a close, Charles Barkley and Inside the NBA will make the move over to ESPN next year
Richard Jefferson and Charles Barkley will soon be coworkers at the same network as the Inside the NBA show moves over to join the ABC networks next season. The show's current contract with TNT is coming to a close and the crew has a new contract offered to them by ABC to appear on ESPN for their NBA coverage.
While Inside the NBA will be produced by the team that currently produces the show, the rights to the show will be held by ESPN. Charles Barkley's decisions on how he chooses to speak on the NBA from his platform as an analyst and media personality have brought him his fair share of criticism. He is generally known for sticking to his beliefs and expressing his opinions without any fear.
