Darvin Ham seemingly used his second NBA Cup to fuel his latest comments against his former team, the LA Lakers. While discussing his firing in an interview with Andscape on Wednesday, the Milwaukee Bucks' top assistant passionately ranted about how his tenure in LA should have been after two years in charge instead of getting fired.

Ham believes that he could have gotten an extension anywhere after his exploits in LA. He highlighted his career highs as a coach with the Lakers, citing the team's consecutive playoff appearances, a conference finals finish and an NBA Cup win during his reign.

"To do as well as I did… I swear to God, anywhere else I’m probably looking at an extension," Ham said. "I’m not talking feelings, just facts. They go from not making the playoffs to the Conference Finals, and we won the in-season tournament …
"People always talk about us losing to Denver, but they don’t talk about how we got to Denver. We beat a kick-ass young squad in Memphis, and we beat Stephen Curry and Golden State."

Ham's comments didn't sit well with several Lakers fans, who believed he was responsible for the team's shortcomings, especially in the 2023-24 season.

"Please mention you getting us swept 4-0 in one year then 4-1 the next year, all while having wood and Vando on the bench. 1st/2nd rd wins aren’t enough. This little NBA cup getting to his dome," one fan said.

Another fan said:

"Bro a front runner. When bucks was losing every game he went hiding now he got so much to say"
"The Lakers carried Darvin there not the other way around," one fan added.

One user wrote about Ham's lineups, saying:

"Stop this your 3 guard lineups cost us games at times."
"He should not swear to God on that Lol," another added.
"So the greatest achievement of his career is beating Steph Curry," one user wrote.

Darvin Ham reveals if he's in touch with Lakers players and his take on team's current state

Needless to say, Darvin Ham's tenure with the Lakers didn't end well. However, he has no ill feelings towards anybody in the locker room or the team's situation, with an up-and-down run with new coach JJ Redick.

Ham hasn't spoken to anyone from last year's roster. According to the Bucks' assistant, he greeted several former players during a preseason game between Milwaukee and LA, including D'Angelo Russell, Gabe Vincent, Jaxson Hayes, Cam Reddish and LeBron James.

However, none of those conversations were meaningful, and neither party has looked to initiate any dialogue since.

"I haven’t talked to anybody,” Ham said. “When we played them in the preseason, I said hello to a couple of guys. Jaxson [Hayes], Cam [Reddish], DLo [D’Angelo Russell], Gabe [Vincent]. But not really, man. LeBron ran past the bench and we had a little bit of small talk."
"There is no ill will for me. Their situation is what it is."

The Lakers have faced too many highs and lows this season, similar to last year's start with Darvin Ham. They are 14-12 through 26 games under Redick and 15-11 at the same stage with Ham after winning the NBA Cup.
