NBA executives have say on Brandon Miller, reveal thoughts on draft stock: "No impact at all", "If not in any legal trouble, would love to have him"

Brandon Miller NBA draft stock

Alabama freshman Brandon Miller has been tied up in controversy after being connected to a murder committed by a teammate. Despite everything swirling around him, it doesn't seem to be having much impact on his future.

Last month, Miller's teammate Darius Miles was arrested on capital murder charges. Later developments indicated that Miller brought the gun that Miles later used in the shooting. As of now, he is not facing any criminal charges.

A situation like this would typically cause a player's stock to plummet, but that hasn't happened with Brandon Miller. Scouts and executives around the league are still high on the young prospect.

“Love Brandon. If he’s not in any legal trouble, would love to have him.”
“All the intel I’ve ever heard on Brandon is really positive.”

Where is Brandon Miller ranked in the 2023 NBA draft class?

Brandon Miller is expected to be among the top prospects in the 2023 NBA draft this summer. Among the headliners are international sensation Victor Wembanyama and G-League Ignite standout Scoot Henderson.

As of now, Miller appears to be a high pick in the draft as well. Bleacher Report's most recent mock draft has the Alabama forward being selected fifth overall by the Orlando Magic.

Depending on what happens with Miles' case, Miller could see his stock plummet. If things remain the same, it seems likely he will be taken in the lottery.

Miller is a 6-foot-9 forward that can score from anywhere on the floor. In 28 games this season, he is averaging 19.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.9 asssits. Miller is also shooting 43.1% from deep on seven attempts per game. Earlier this week, he went for 41 points and eight rebounds on 56% shooting in the win against South Carolina.

At his size, Miller is the prototypical player that every team wants in today's NBA. Not only can he shoot the lights out from deep, but his size makes him versatile on the other end of the floor.

While most teams have their eyes on a franchise-altering prospect like Wembanyama, Miller should still be highly sought out. His potential as a three-and-D wing would instantly make any roster he ends up on better.
