Amid ex-Golden State Warriors co-stars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson's first season as opponents, an edit went viral highlighting the former's adjustment process. The clip left NBA fans feeling sad and nostalgic as the "Splash Brothers" embark on the next phases of their careers.
Thompson joined the Dallas Mavericks on a three-year, $50 million contract via a sign-and-trade deal over the offseason. The move ended his 13-year tenure with Golden State, the organization that drafted in the 2011 NBA draft. He and Curry led the Warriors to four championships during that span, transforming them into one of the NBA's premier franchises.
Golden State has started strong sans Thompson, going undefeated in the preseason (6-0) before opening the regular season 2-0. However, during Friday's 127-86 road victory over the Utah Jazz, one unforced error by Curry reminded some of Thompson's absence.

Curry attempted to throw a behind-the-back pass to the corner, but no one was there, causing the ball to soar out of bounds. Afterward, an edit went viral on X/Twitter featuring all the times Curry ran similar plays with Thompson on the receiving end.

Steph Curry looking forward to Klay Thompson's imminent return to Chase Center
While NBA fans are lamenting Klay Thompson no longer being a Warrior, they won't have to wait long for his return to Chase Center.
Dallas (1-1) takes on Golden State (2-0) on the road on Nov. 12, and according to Steph Curry, it should be an emotional evening.
"They'll have the ceremony ... and I'm going to be fully engaged and present and making sure you celebrate him the way he's supposed to," Curry said earlier this month.
However, the two-time MVP added that he is looking forward to competing against and beating his former co-star for the first time.
"And then after that, it's war," Curry said. "That's how we're all built."
