NBA fans namedrop Doc Rivers and other stars most pumped about Twitter likes going private

Doc Rivers was back in the spotlight after X/Twitter announced an important update to the service. Since Elon Musk bought the company, significant changes have been made, with the latest one coming in the form of private likes.

Awful Announcing's official Twitter account asked fans about which sports figure would feel the happiest about this decision today, sparking a big conversation about it.

Doc Rivers was a popular name among fans, as he was mentioned on multiple occasions due to a viral moment involving his Twitter likes in 2022.

"Didn’t Doc Rivers get caught in 4k liking some wild stuff, or am I thinking of someone else? lol," one fan said.

Other fans went with different people, including two-time NBA champion Ray Allen, former NBA MVP James Harden and Charlotte Hornets veteran Grant Williams.

"Clearly Ray Allen," one fan said.
"James Harden," another fan said.
"Grant Williams," a fan said.

All the names mentioned by fans were allegedly caught liking controversial tweets at some point in recent years. Doc Rivers was the most famous case when his account had liked multiple accounts that shared explicit content on the platform.

His PR team even issued a statement excusing the veteran coach, explaining that he was hacked. Still, fans haven't forgotten about it and this was a good opportunity for them to recall this situation.

Ray Allen also was caught in a similar situation. The former Boston Celtics and Miami Heat champion allegedly tweeted a message intended as a direct message for somebody, detailing an explicit moment with a woman.

Grant Williams was caught by Redditors liking a tweet suggesting Giannis Antetokounmpo tried to 'rip his arm off' in 2022.

These types of situations have been common in the NBA in recent times, as even Ben Simmons liked a tweet from Skip Bayless criticizing James Harden's performance in an elimination game with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Doc Rivers adds Darvin Ham to his coaching staff in Milwaukee

Doc Rivers was already making headlines this week after he decided to add former LA Lakers head coach Darvin Ham to his staff. Following a two-year stint with the Purple and Gold, Ham was dismissed in May.

Ham has returned to Milwaukee after previously being part of Mike Budenholzer's staff until 2022. Rivers will have a second chance to take the Bucks back to the top of the NBA, this time with a more experienced Ham.
