Draymond Green and Jordan Poole's fallout might have cost the Golden State Warriors one of the brightest future stars. When it came to taking sides, the Warriors chose to stick to their veteran player. According to reports, the Warriors did try to mend the relationship between Green and Poole, but the former refused to entertain the idea of reconciliation.

According to Logan Murdock from Ringer, Warriors' coach Steve Kerr and several other officials from the organization tried to reconcile the two. They suggested Green take Poole for dinner and smooth it over, however, the four-time NBA champion refused. Draymond later admitted that his broken relationship with Poole might have cost the Warriors a championship.

A post from NBA Central on X (formerly Twitter) received a lot of attention from fans, some of whom were not surprised the idea of dinner didn't work:

"Were they supposed to kiss and make up over dessert or something?"

Draymond Green upgraded to 5-on-5 after ankle sprain

Draymond Green missed the entire preseason with the Warriors due to a sprained ankle. The team received big news on Sunday, as the four-time All-Star player has been upgraded to five-on-five work.

The Dubs released a statement:

"Warriors forward Draymond Green, who suffered a sprained left ankle during off-season workouts and missed all five (5) of the team's preseason games, continues to make good progress.
"He has been cleared to begin practicing with the team (5-on-5) and his return to game action will be based on his continued progress as he works his way into game-like condition."

With the progress that Green has made in the past week or so, the team is hopeful for his return on the opening night against the Phoenix Suns.

Green’s return could be a huge boost for the Warriors since he has been an integral part of their success in the last decade. His impact on both offense and defense is massive, with the add-on that he provides with his leadership, especially to the young core.

A lot depends on Green’s leadership and how the Warriors' young players adjust to the new role. Moreover, Green and Chris Paul are yet to share the court and their chemistry is a must for the Warriors to succeed.

Green’s early return should help him to gel with Paul, and if Green returns in short order, it will be interesting to see what starting lineup Kerr goes with.
