Jimmy Butler has become the hottest talk of the town ever since he requested a trade. The Miami Heat suspended him for seven games on Friday as the organization tries to seek a team willing to trade for Butler. While nothing has come to fruition as of now, it seems that the Memphis Grizzlies might be Jimmy's next destination.
A fan on social media pointed out how Evan Sidery, an NBA contributor in Forbes, reported that the odds of Jimmy Butler getting traded to the Memphis Grizzlies went from +3,000 to +400. They then pointed out how the total contract of the three Grizzlies players who were recently on the injury report aligns perfectly with Butler's contract. The fan theorized that Butler could be going to Memphis.
"So you're telling me the Grizzlies odds go up by a ton and then these 3 guys (who COINCIDENTALLY match Jimmy's salary perfectly) are injured all of a sudden? Something is happening."

Fans on X (formerly Twitter) couldn't help but express their take on the Butler-Grizzlies trade theory. Here's what some said:
"They’re not trading bane atleast I don’t think so," one said.
"👀👀 Grizzlies would upgrade from this ngl. Butler, Ja, JJJ with young depth pieces is more than enough to contend. Butler fits the gritty mentality of Memphis too," one tweeted.
"I'd be shocked if they traded Bane or if the Heat would really want that," another said.
"they ain't trading bane for jimmy lmao," one user wrote.
"Butler seems like he would’ve been perfect with the grit n grind grizzlies so maybe he’d be perfect there nowadays," one pointed out.
"This is a balanced trade 4 both sides, bane is a good scorer that can avg 20+ ppg, kennard is a known sharpshooter. And our fo has been interested in konchar," another pointed out.
Bam Adebayo opens up on Jimmy Butler's potential exit
Jimmy Butler has played for the Miami Heat for six seasons. While it seemed like Butler was going to stick around for a longer period, it seems that his relationship with the Heat's front office has become a problem, resulting in him wanting to leave.
Butler's Heat teammate Bam Adebayo opened up about what he thought of the situation. Adebayo said:
“I mean, s**t, you live with what happens. Like I said, we’re worried about what we can control, and we can’t control that. That’s up to management and (Butler)."
While the dispute between Jimmy Butler and the Heat organization is disheartening, Adebayo remains focused on their goal of winning. Miami is currently in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with a 17-15 record. Maintaining their spot or improving from it should be the goal as they're on the right track of avoiding the Play-In Tournament.
However, if Butler does end up leaving, it's unclear how that would impact the team. So far, Jimmy has only played in 22 games. Despite missing 10 games, the Heat have managed to maintain a steady position.
