Some NBA fans were stunned when Kyrie Irving's infamous stomp on the Boston Celtics logo a few years ago seemingly foreshadowed the NBA Finals matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. Irving and the Mavs booked their ticket to the NBA Finals after beating the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday.

The storylines for the upcoming NBA Finals matchup between the Celtics and Mavericks have layers. Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum are battling it out to find who will be the next face of the league. Doncic and Irving against Tatum and Jaylen Brown should determine the best duo in the NBA.

Kristaps Porzingis is facing his former team less than two years after getting traded to the Washington Wizards. Irving is a former Celtics who disrespected Lucky the Leprechaun by stomping on the team's logo when he was with the Brooklyn Nets.

Rob Perez on X shared a screenshot of Kyrie's stomp on the Celtics logo with the Mavericks logo on the background. It's a foreshadowing for some, while others will explain it as a coincidence.

NBA fans are bewildered by the coincidence of the Dallas Mavericks logo being on the background when Kyrie Irving stepped on the Boston Celtics logo. Some fans take it as a joke about "NBA scripts," while others just couldn't believe it.

"NBA scriptwriting at an all-time high," one fan claimed.
"Wow thats pretty crazy!! Life has a way of working itself out!!" another fan wrote.
"Wow. Everything is falling into place as it should. Karma is coming for Boston and those fans," a fan commented.

Other fans compared the NBA to a movie or even to the WWE due to the number of storylines for the upcoming NBA Finals matchup:

"NBA is the next WWE," one fan commented.
"Wow that's crazy Simpsons sh*t!" another fan claimed.
"ONE PIECE TYPE SH*T FORESHADOWING," a Mavs and One Piece fan remarked.

It's going to be a full-circle moment for Kyrie Irving when the Dallas Mavericks face the Boston Celtics in the 2024 NBA Finals.

Irving was excited to face his former team on the biggest stage of basketball and got no ill will toward them. He explained in his postgame press conference what went wrong in Boston.

"I'm at a place in my life where I don't even consider, you know, those past moments. I was able to unpack them in a healthy way, move forward as a person.
"You know, I had a rough time there when I was in Boston, again, just dealing with death in my family and dealing with a lot of off-court stuff that I wasn't ready to handle. So now that I'm in a great place to be able to vocalize how I'm feeling," Irving said. [H/T GiveMeSport]

Irving wants to motivate the Mavs heading into the NBA Finals, which his teammates have never been a part of. He's happy about getting the result, but the job is not done for them, and his former team stands on their way to success.
