Heading into the Feb. 6 NBA Trade Deadline, LeBron James and Anthony Davis reportedly expect LA's front office to be active. Per Shams Charania, who appeared on Thursday's episode of "The Pat McAfee Show," both LeBron and AD want to see some urgency from the Lakers front office.

The Los Angeles Lakers (23-18) are fifth in the Western Conference, level on points with the Los Angeles Clippers. However, both teams trail the fourth-place Denver Nuggets by three games.

Given that, and the fact that the Lakers know LeBron James is in the twilight years of his career, the hope among the two LA stars is that the front office moves to bring in additional help to fuel the team's championship push.

"The Lakers are doing their due diligence to see what's out there. The problem is in terms of the trade market, who can make that difference? I think LeBron James, Anthony Davis ... want to see some urgency, some activity with the Lakers in their front office to go out and go get another piece or two," Charania said.

"From my understanding, both LeBron James and Anthony Davis feel that this team with the Lakers, ... They feel like if they get another piece or two, that they can really be legitimate title contenders."

Per Charania, considering that both James and Davis believe the Lakers can compete for a title with one or two more signings, he expects the franchise to stay active between now and the Feb. 6 deadline.

Looking at the latest trade rumors surrounding the LA Lakers amid reports of LeBron James and Anthony Davis' expectations

As the Feb. 6 NBA Trade Deadline approaches, the LA Lakers are clearly exploring the trade market for available players.

Since last calendar year, there have been talks about the team acquiring Jonas Valanciunas from the Washington Wizards or Robert Williams III from the Portland Trail Blazers.

Additionally, there has been talk of LA acquiring Utah big-man Walker Kessler, who would give LeBron James and Anthony Davis an interior threat on both ends of the floor.

However, Shams Charania says Utah's asking price on Walker Kessler is "really high." Because of that, Charania says LA is doing its due diligence.

Because of that, it may make it seem like a trade for Jonas Valanciunas is more likely; however, according to reports, Washington is looking for either a draft pick or draft picks that would help fuel a rebuild.

Consequently, LA might consider trading one of their first-round picks to acquire Valanciunas, a seasoned veteran, instead of risking a selection on Robert Williams, whose career has been affected mainly by injuries.
