Ja Morant is out indefinitely for the Memphis Grizzlies as he seeks treatment following his recent gun controversy. There's growing concern among Grizzlies fans that Morant might not play again this season, and NBA insider Marc J. Spears shares the same sentiment.

On Brian Windhorst's "The Hoop Collective" podcast, Spears said he's worried about Morant, but remains hopeful that he will figure things out.

"I think there's a lot going on," Spears said. "My prayers to himhthat he figures it out. There's things I'm hearing that I'd rather probably not say on this podcast. I hope he's taking care of himself. I'm not really worried about the basketball part for him right now, I'm worried about the human part.
"When he does come back, he's healthy mentally and physically. My guess now is, not that you'd bet on this, that he doesn't play the rest of the season as he takes care of himself."

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Monday that Ja Morant entered a counseling program in Florida. There's no clear timetable for his return.

The Grizzlies are more concerned about Morant's well-being and future than a possible lost season. They are still second in the Western Conference standings, but are unlikely to win the title without their best player.

Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke also remain out for the Grizzlies, while Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane have been tasked with carrying the team. The regular season is still a month away from ending, and the Grizzlies (41-26) just need to secure home-court advantage to give themselves a chance to at least make it past the first round.

Ja Morant has been involved in a handful of controversies since last summer. From allegedly beating up a teenager to threatening mall officials in Memphis, it has not been a great time for Morant. His circle of friends even got into it with the Indiana Pacers after a game earlier this season.

His most recent controversy was an Instagram live video in which he flashed a gun, which got him suspended for two games. He might now be out for the rest of the season. While the IG scandal is still fresh, a new report has emerged regarding an incident that happened in September.

Police reports obtained by TMZ Sports showed that Morant, his parents and friends stormed a high school volleyball game in Germantown, Tennessee. They reportedly confronted and threatened a student who allegedly called Morant's sister, Teniya, a "b***h" during the game.

While no charges were filed, one witness said that one of Morant's friends allegedly knocked a phone out of someone's hands and threatened another with a gun.
