We're almost at the midpoint of the 2024-25 NBA season. Some teams already look like legitimate championship contenders, whereas others are struggling to keep up.
A couple of teams are finally starting to show signs of life after a sub-par start to the campaign, and while it'll be a steep road ahead of them, they still have time to turn things around.
With that in mind, we'll share yet another updated version of our power rankings, letting you know about the top 10 teams in the NBA after the 10th week of the regular season.
NBA power rankings after Week 10 of the 2024-25 season
#10 Los Angeles Clippers
Tyronn Lue continues to prove that he's one of the best defensive coaches in the game. With Kawhi Leonard still out, the Los Angeles Clippers remain No. 6 in the Western Conference.

They've won six of their last 10 games, and that's despite ranking in the middle of the pack in most categories. Norman Powell continues to be a critical contributor, averaging north of 24 points per game.
#9 Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks were just dealt a huge blow, as superstar Luka Doncic will be sidelined with an injury for the time being. Doncic is averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game.
In the meantime, it'll be up to Kyrie Irving to lead the way for Jason Kidd's team, as Doncic is looking at at least one month on the shelf. Even so, they're 20-12 for the season.
#8 Houston Rockets
Ime Udoka's team continues to impress. The Houston Rockets are currently No. 3 in the Western Conference, trailing the second-seeded Memphis Grizzlies by a single win.
They're 6-4 in the last 10 games, and they've only lost five games at home all year long. Despite Alperen Sengun's defensive limitations, they might have the best defense in the league.
#7 Indiana Pacers
Tyrese Haliburton is slowly but surely getting out of his slump. That, obviously, has been great news for Rick Carlisle's outfit, as they've now won seven of their last 10.
The Pacers have climbed all the way to the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference, and while they're still one game behind .500, their fast-paced offense is finally turning the corner.
#6 Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics have hit a bit of a wall. Joe Mazzulla's team has struggled with inconsistency over the last week or so, dropping games they could've and should've won.
They've blown big leads, and their once-hot 3-point shooting has been nowhere to be found lately. They've gone 5-5 in their last 10, and they've lost three of their last four.
#5 Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are finally trending in the right direction. Getting superstar big man Joel Embiid back from injury has been huge for the slumping Nick Nurse team.
The Sixers have won seven of their last 10 games, including a big win over the Boston Celtics. Embiid is looking more like his usual self as well, averaging 22.4 points and 6.8 rebounds for the season.
#4 Memphis Grizzlies
Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies keep rolling. Taylor Jenkins' team boasts of one of the most physical defenses in the league. Also, their shot-making has gotten better as the season has progressed.
The Grizzlies have won seven of their last 10 games, and they're 14-4 at home. They're leading the league in points per game at 123, and they're second in rebounds at 48.5.
#3 New York Knicks
The New York Knicks have left that slow start to the season well behind them. It took them longer than expected, but we can finally get a glimpse of that Tom Thibodeau defense.
They're now just one game behind the slumping Boston Celtics, boasting a 22-10 record for the season which includes a 10-4 mark at Madison Square Garden. They've also won seven in a row.
#2 Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to have the best record in the league. They've won 27 of their first 31 games, including a league-best 17-1 mark when they're at home.
Kenny Atkinson's team is tied for the most points per game (123) and has the best field goal percentage in the league (50.6%). They also have the best 3-point percentage at 40.9%.
#1 Oklahoma City Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder remain at the top. They've won 15 of their last 16 games, with their only loss coming in the Emirates NBA Cup final. That's despite not having Chet Holmgren.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is having an MVP-caliber season. He averages 31.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game on 52% from the floor, and he's been arguably the best two-way player in the league this season.
