Fresh off winning his third MVP in four years, Nikola Jokic is having the most productive season of his career. As he continues to be one of the league's most dominant stars, fans reacted to a bold take made by a former coach.

As a center who can do just about everything on the floor, Jokic is the focal point of the Nuggets' offense. When he isn't setting his teammates up for easy baskets, he's taking matters into his own hands when it comes to scoring.

Earlier this week, longtime NBA head coach George Karl took to X (formerly Twitter) to give his thoughts on Nikola Jokic's play. He feels the Nuggets are more reliant on him than the Chicago Bulls ever were with Michael Jordan.

Following this remark, NBA fans took to Reddit to react to Karl's take. They agreed with his statement, saying that the Nuggets would be a lottery team without Jokic.

This season, Jokic is putting up averages of 30.1 points, 13.0 rebounds and 10.4 assists. He sits third among all players in scoring, second in rebounding and second in assists.

Nikola Jokic does everything for Nuggets in win vs Golden State Warriors

When it comes to the Nuggets being reliant on Nikola Jokic, look no further than their recent matchup with the Golden State Warriors. Dever needed every ounce of dominance from the former MVP to pull out a victory.

While Denver was out of the running, the Warriors were motivated to win Tuesday's NBA Cup matchup. The Nuggets played spoiler, handing them their first loss in group play. However, Steph Curry and company still managed to clinch West Group C.

The main reason why the Nuggets were able to secure a 119-115 win over Golden State was because of Nikola Jokic. He filled the entire stat sheet for Denver in what was their 2024 NBA Cup Finale. Jokic totaled 40 minutes on the night and finished with a stat line of 38 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, five steals and one block.

The Nuggets have longed to get back in the title picture in the Western Conference, and Jokic is doing what he can to get them there. Sitting at 11-8 on the season, Denver is a middle-of-the-pack team in a loaded Western Conference. That said, they're only a half-game out of fifth place.

Jokic has shown he's capable of shouldering a large load for the Nuggets, but one has to wonder how sustainable this is. If Denver has to put this much wear and tear on their superstar in the regular season, he might not have anything left in the tank come playoffs.
