The Minnesota Timberwolves regressed this season, but Anthony Edwards has taken a major leap. With Karl-Anthony Towns gone and the offense taking a hit, the former No. 1 pick has had to take matters into his own hands more often than not, and that includes making up for Towns' 3-point shooting.

Edwards made the most of the offseason by becoming a much better 3-point shooter. He is shooting 42.2% from beyond the arc while knocking down 4.2 3-pointers per game, and both of those figures are career highs.

Several Reddit users discussed his improved 3-point shooting.

"He stated that he studied and copied Dame Lillard’s shooting form this offseason," one Redditor wrote.
"Really impressed by how he's become such a great 3 point shooter," another user chimed in. "Shooting more, making more and increasing his efficiency all in one offseason? He really is worthy of the hype."
"Taking 3 more shots a game than last season and still increasing his efficiency by 6.5% is absolutely wild," another user said.
"Shooting a lot of threes is a good way to make sure he doesn’t have to pass," a Redditor added.
"He killed us the other night," one fan posted.

Anthony Edwards doesn't like double teams

Despite the improved 3-point shooting, Edwards' scoring average is slightly down to 25.6 points per game from 25.9 points last season. He said being doubled-teamed all the time has taken a toll.

"Them doubling me, definitely it’s like, ‘Bro, what is going on?’ I’m trying to figure it out. I don’t know what to do honestly, but it’s not fun," Edwards said after the loss to the Boston Celtics.
“I don’t want to look like I’m not trying or not as good as I am, because I am, but I can’t show it because I’m getting double-teamed. It’s definitely frustrating to see these guys cooking us and I can’t cook them.”

Meanwhile, Edwards' Minnesota Timberwolves (18-17) are just one game above .500, sitting ninth in the Western Conference. They made the Conference Finals last season.

They still have time to turn things around this season, and with such a talented young star at the forefront, they might be compelled to make some moves before the trade deadline.
