After surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the leading scorer in the NBA, LeBron James joined the former LA Lakers in another exclusive record club reaching 15,000 field goals made, the second player in league history to do so after Abdul-Jabbar (15,837).
The icing on the cake for James and the Lakers was a close-call win for LA as they edged out the Utah Jazz 105-104 at the Delta Center on Sunday. NBA insider Marc J. Spears tweeted the news:
"Lakers say LeBron James has now reached 15,000 career field goals made, becoming the second player in NBA history to do so. James is currently second behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (15,837) in NBA history."

James ended his evening with 27 points, five rebounds, and 14 assists. While his field goal shooting is not a concern, his three-point slump is as the All-Star forward has not splashed one from the deep since the game against the Phoenix Suns. James went 0-9 from the deep against the Jazz, and that extends his zero 3s per game to 15 straight misses.
The Lakers' win wasn't without drama as a Will Hardy error during a key moment of the game cost them the win. LeBron James' effective passing and a solid outing despite his downtown woes now sees LA improve to 12-8 in the West.
LeBron James gets candid about his three-point shooting slump
Speaking to the media after the win, LeBron James was asked about his struggles from beyond the arc, and the 39-year-old minced no words when he said he would endure sleepless nights for bricking 3s that he would usually make.
"I won't be able to sleep on this flight for sure . Everything is still running from this game. ... Hopefully I'll be able to sleep (in Minnesota)."
James is averaging 22.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 9.1 assists this season, shooting 42.9% from the field. Coming into the matchup against Utah, the LA Lakers superstar was draining 38.8% of these 3s, and the numbers have taken a hit after his slump since the Phoenix Suns loss.
LA and LeBron James will hope that his shooting from the deep improves when they take on a smarting, but still-a-threat Minnesota unit on Monday night. It will be a tough matchup for the struggling Lakers side as they play on the second night of a back-to-back. Only time will tell if James can overcome fatigue and lack of form to get his mojo back.
