Social media erupted after Joel Embiid was ejected during the Philadelphia 76ers' high-profile matchup against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday. The incident unfolded in the second quarter when Embiid collided with Victor Wembanyama while attempting an offensive play with three minutes remaining.

Hoping to draw a foul, Embiid was instead called for a charge, a decision that clearly didn’t sit well with the Sixers star. The one-time MVP voiced his displeasure, earning a technical foul in the process.

However, Embiid didn’t hold back and continued his heated exchange with the referee, resulting in a second technical and an ejection from the game. Visibly furious, Embiid had to be restrained from confronting the official further.

Joel Embiid vs. San Antonio Spurs

Joel Embiid's night against the San Antonio Spurs was cut short after he was ejected from the game. The 7-foot center logged just 14 minutes, contributing 9 points, three rebounds, one assist and two steals while shooting 2 of 8 from the field, including 1 of 4 from beyond the arc.

Despite Embiid's limited impact, the Philadelphia 76ers secured a commanding 111-106 victory over the Spurs at the Wells Fargo Center. Tyrese Maxey stepped up in a big way, delivering a stellar all-around performance with 32 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
