Following a shaky start to the season, the Bucks have turned things around and again look like contenders. With a championship on their minds, Milwaukee looks to be in the mix for upgrades before the trade deadline.
In his latest column breaking down intel from across the league, ESPN's Brian Windhorst detailed Milwaukee's plans. They have shown a willingness to part with multiple pieces from their championship team to upgrade the roster. Those who are reportedly available include former All-Star Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis and Pat Connaughton.
“The Bucks have been active this trade season, sources said, with Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis and Pat Connaughton all expected to be available in potential moves to bring back an impact player.”

Led by a superstar duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, Milwaukee aims to maximize its title window. Middleton has been a key piece for them, but injuries have caught up to him. The veteran forward has played in just 18 games this season and is averaging 12.6 points.
Giannis and Co. rank fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 25-17 record. However, as the second half of the season begins, they are only two and a half games out of a top-three seed.
Milwaukee Bucks reportedly interested in acquiring two-time NBA All-Star
At the start of the Jimmy Butler saga, the Milwaukee Bucks briefly appeared in rumors before falling out of the picture. They have sometimes been linked to Bradley Beal in a possible multi-team deal and now are connected to another former All-Star.
In the updated edition of his trade deadline big board, insider Sam Vecenie mentioned another notable name Milwaukee might target: Chicago Bulls wing Zach LaVine.
"The Bucks are thought to be on the periphery of the Butler trade discussions by other teams and are thought to have interest in at least exploring what deals could look like for Butler, Zach LaVine and Bradley Beal. If they were to decide to make a deal for any of those players, Middleton's contract would have to be involved financially."
After an injury-ridden campaign in 2024, LaVine has returned to form for the Chicago Bulls. He is averaging 24.0 points and 4.5 assists this season while shooting a stellar 45.1 percent from beyond the arc.
While Zach LaVine's play has turned around, his contract is still noteworthy. He is set to earn $43 million this season and his salary will only increase over the next two years.
With his skill set, LaVine could be an upgrade to Middleton as a floor spacer and secondary scorer. The Milwaukee Bucks would be financially handicapped with three big salaries, but they would be in the mix to compete for another title.
