There are some rumors that the Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler could soon part ways. In fact, some reports are claiming that this could happen before this season's trade deadline. However, a new rumor has emerged indicating that the Heat could be looking to add a piece that could aid them in a playoff run.
On Friday's edition of the Stein Line, reporter Marc Stein wrote that Miami's front office is interested in Memphis Grizzlies guard John Konchar. Aside from the Heat, Konchar has also reportedly drawn interest from the Orlando Magic and the Brooklyn Nets.
Konchar went undrafted in 2019 but was able to partially secure a roster spot after signing a two-way contract with the Grizzlies.

So far in his career, the Grizzlies wing has averaged 4.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. He mostly steps in as a role player for Memphis and has only started in 53 of the 276 games he's played so far.
While Konchar isn't quite as coveted as the more prominent names on the trade market, he could turn into a contributor on the right team. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra is well-known for his ability to turn role players and even third-string players into strong and solid contributors.
Jimmy Butler wants to be traded before the Feb. 6 deadline
Jimmy Butler has been the heart and soul of the Miami Heat for the past six seasons. As the squad's leader, Butler has helped the Heat to several stunning playoff series victories and has even led them to two finals appearances (2020 and 2023).
However, Miami may no longer be the place that Butler calls home soon. According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the six-time All-Star wants to be traded to a different team before the Feb. 6 trade deadline.
Charania wrote in an article published by ESPN on Wednesday that Butler wants to be a part of a win-now situation. Charania added that Butler has not formally requested a trade but is ready to move forward.
One of the franchises that has been mentioned as a potential trade partner for Butler is the Phoenix Suns. Some rumors have suggested that the Suns are one of Butler's preferred destinations.
Meanwhile, Phoenix's front office is also looking to shake up its roster. One name that has been thrown into the rumor mill as a part of the potential package for Butler is Bradley Beal. However, Beal has a no-trade clause, which means he will have to agree to be traded before the Suns can send him anywhere.
