The Golden State Warriors are looking for another player who can complement Steph Curry and Draymond Green. Since Klay Thompson departed from the Bay Area, Golden State has run with a different look.
In the beginning, it seemed Buddy Hield was the star they were looking for. The team even led the Western Conference at one point. However, as the season progressed, they found themselves losing more games. With that said, it seems that they need another star.
NBA insider Shams Charania revealed that the Warriors were actively looking for a fitting replacement for Thompson over the summer. They targeted guys like Lauri Markkanen and Paul George earlier this summer. However, they failed. Now being fifth in the West with a 13-8 record, Charania reported that the organization is still actively shopping.
"I'm told that the Warriors are on the real hunt for a star," Charania said. "A playmaker, a scorer alongside Stephen Curry. You think back the summer when they pursued Lauri Markkanen with the Utah Jazz. They made a pitch for Paul George as a free agent with the Clippers."

Moses Moody and Gary Payton II rumored to be traded by Warriors
According to Shams Charania, the Golden State Warriors are still aggressively seeking for a suitable trade to add to their roster, and it appears that Moses Moody and Gary Payton II could be the two pieces in any potential deal.
While the Warriors did grant Moody a three-year contract extension worth $37.5 million, the organization may use his contract's value to acquire a star. Combining it with Payton II's remaining salary worth $9.1 million, the team might come up with a good deal.
Sources also noted that while Moody and Payton have played all games this season, they aren't playing anywhere beyond 17 minutes. Their low usage rate could indicate their intention to shop them away before the trade deadline.
The primary scorers for the Warriors are Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins, Buddy Hield and Jonathan Kuminga. Then they have Draymond Green, who serves as the team's enforcer. While this new lineup has proven to be a threat in the league earlier this season, Golden State has lost steam.
They need another star to help Curry's offense. If not that, they could probably get another versatile big who could effectively assist both Curry and Green on both ends of the floor.
