The New Orleans Pelicans will square off against their conference rivals Denver Nuggets on Sunday. The matchup comes on the second night of a back-to-back for the Pelicans, following a challenging 104-93 loss to the New York Knicks on Saturday.

New Orleans' season has been heavily impacted by injuries, with several key players missing significant time and others still sidelined due to various issues. These injury woes have been a major factor in the Pelicans' struggles, leaving Willie Green's team at the bottom of the Western Conference standings with a disappointing 5-24 record through 29 games.

Currently holding the second-worst record in the league, just ahead of the four-win Washington Wizards, the Pelicans will once again be without their two primary stars, Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson, along with several other key rotational players as they face the Nuggets.

Brandon Ingram has been ruled out of the game due to a left ankle injury. The star forward last appeared for the Pelicans on Dec. 7 against the OKC Thunder and there is not timeline on his return yet.

Zion Williamson, who has been sidelined since Nov. 6 with a left hamstring strain, will also miss the matchup. The young star has recently been seen working individually during team practice sessions as part of his recovery process.

Backup point guard Jose Alvarado remains sidelined due to a left hamstring injury. The last time he appeared on the court was on Nov. 11 against the Brooklyn Nets.

Additionally, center Daniel Theis is listed as "questionable" for the game due to personal reasons.
