Founder of Barstool Sports Dave Portnoy wasn't a fan of Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr's coaching performance during the Olympics, particularly his decision to bench Jayson Tatum. And now, Portnoy has ripped Kerr for his scheduled appearance at the Democratic National Convention.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Andrew Desiderio, a senior congressional reporter at Punchbowl News, confirmed Monday that Kerr is set to speak at the convention.

"New — Steve Kerr is speaking at the Dem convention tonight," Desiderio reported on social media.

Portnoy, who is a huge Boston Celtics fan, replied to this tweet to share his thoughts on Kerr. He took a jab at how Kerr managed the minutes of Celtics star Jayson Tatum for Team USA.

"Finds time to do this but cant find minutes for Tatum? Nice priorities loser," Portnoy posted on X.

Kerr has been criticized by many regarding how he handled the minutes for stars of Team USA. During the 2024 Paris Olympics, the head coach decided not to play Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum twice.

It happened once during their first official Olympic game against Serbia. Together with Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton, Tatum registered a DNP during the game.

It happened again during their semifinal game against the same team, Serbia. Team USA struggled during the first half and Kerr still opted for the Celtics star to sit on the bench. Luckily, they had Steph Curry, who had 36 points during the game to lead them to the 95-91 win.

USA Basketball eyeing two coaching replacements for Steve Kerr

NBA reporter Marc Stein shared that Steve Kerr is not likely to return as Team USA's head coach. This came after he was heavily criticized for not being able to handle stars' minutes. Stein stated that the search for a new national team coach has begun within the program.

The two coaches that are on their radar are Erik Spoelstra (Miami Heat) and Tyronn Lue (LA Clippers). Both of them are excellent head coaches in the NBA and were assistants to Kerr during their recent Olympic run.

Kerr was given the coaching reins after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. At the time, Team USA was coached by the renowned Gregg Popovich. The first real test for the Warriors head coach was during the 2023 FIBA World Cup. He failed to lead the national team to a promising finish and finished fourth in the tournament.

The nine-time NBA champion redeemed himself during the recent Paris Games.
