The Dallas Mavericks have quickly fallen from a contender to a bottom feeder. They went from competing for the NBA championship last year to just barely hanging on to a Play-in tournament spot this season. Perhaps one thing to blame for this predicament is the injuries to key players.
Anthony Davis suffered an adductor injury and Kyrie Irving is out for the year with an ACL tear. Dereck Lively II, Daniel Gafford, P.J. Washington and Jaden Hardy are also sidelined. These injuries have cost them their fifth straight loss, this time to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, 125-116.

While injuries have played a massive role in the Mavericks' struggles, the team's fans are blaming GM Nico Harrison.

"I just know Nico Harrison is a wanted man in Dallas right now," one fan tweeted.
"We go from western conference champs to tanking for the first overall pick, thanks Nico," one fan said.
"Why is Nico Harrison still employed?" One person asked.
Meanwhile, some fans see a silver lining — one that comes in the form of Cooper Flagg, the projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 draft.
"Sweet. Fade for Flagg," one fan said.
"Tank for Flagg," another person commented.
"17 losses to go boys," one person tweeted along with a photoshopped imatge of Flagg in a Mavs jersey.
Slovenian star Luka Doncic missed 27 games, including the last 19, before he was traded to the LA Lakers. Yes, he is no longer with the Dallas Mavericks, but the 14 losses they suffered during those 27 absences remain with the Mavs.

Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison spotted in the tunnel during the Dallas Mavericks loss to the Phoenix Suns
Due to his role in the trade that sent franchise player Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers, Nico Harrison has become hated by the Dallas Mavericks fanbase. When fans received confirmation that the trade was legitimate, some fans even went as far as to send him death threats.
As such, it is expected that Harrison would be met with a chorus of boos and jeers from the home crowd — especially while the team is struggling. During the Mavs vs Suns game, Harrison avoided this by staying in the tunnel.
A fan in attendance at the game caught a glimpse of Harrison. They proceeded to shoot a video of him, which was later shared by the Mavs fan account @MavsMuse.
Fans of the franchise most likely feel betrayed by the Mavericks front office, and the face of that office is General Manager Nico Harrison. After all, that front office did trade away Luka Doncic.
