LeBron James recently landed himself in hot water with passionate football fans. In a video posted to X by DraftKings, LeBron was asked who he thought were the four greatest tight ends of all time, or as the post stated, the "Mount Rushmore" of tight ends.
The Los Angeles Lakers power forward could be seen holding a football in his hand, while he listed out the names. The first name was Travis Kelce from the Kansas City Chiefs.
Next on the list were Tony Gonzalez, Kellen Winslow Sr, and Shannon Sharpe. Then, he revised the list and replaced Gonzalez with Rob Gronkowski, and said that Gonzalez would be an honorable mention.

However, fans did not take too kindly to LeBron's assessment.
One fan commented:
"No Antonio Gates? Jason Witten?? Wtf."
Another fan commented how LeBron doesn't know much about football since he plays basketball, and that his thoughts on the issue are irrelevant.
"He plays basketball. Who cares about his thoughts on professional football tight ends?"
"Winslow Sr? You’re drunk bron. Where’s Antonio Gates?" one fan slammed LeBron for missing out Antonio Gates in his list.
"Odds he did some Googling before this??" another fan asked if the basketball even did any research before coming to this conclusion.
"Who gives a shit what this 🤡 thinks. Totally forgets some of the nfls best tight ends." one fan even went to the extent of calling him a clown for apparently missing out on other tight ends.
"Respect LeBron's and others opinions but the definitive GOAT TE Mt. Rushmore is: - Gronk - Kelce - John Mackey - Shay That's it. That's the list. And there's a gap between these 4 and the rest, frankly. Combo of physical skills, dominance in their time & winning is unmatched," however one fan chose to respectfully disagree and presented his own list of great TEs.
Could LeBron James transition to football?
Although LeBron James is widely acclaimed as one of the greatest basketball players, can he make a dent in another sport as well?
Brandon Graham, who plays DE for the Philadelphia Eagles, weighed in on the possibility.
"Mannn… I don’t know about that one though. Like, playing in that trench like that? It’s different from the transition from basketball to football because it’s more physical. Going from football to basketball, I think yes. But basketball to football? Naw. Because the beating that your body goes through already in basketball is totally different because now you’re fighting a man with your hands, for real. I mean, it might work for a couple games but you gotta for 18 -- well, they want 18 [games]..." (2:52 - 3:22)
James is known to defy expectations. As the NBA legend nears 40-years-old, could he really move from the court to the gridiron?
