Kendrick Perkins thinks Zion Williamson should be traded

Zion Williamson is one of the top talents in the NBA. However, his inability to stay healthy has proven to be a problem for him and the New Orleans Pelicans. He hasn't suited up for the team since Jan. 2, and the Pelicans have experienced a ton of struggles since then.

Perkins thought of a solution on how to address and fix this problem for the Pelicans, and that is to trade the two-time All-Star:

"I will trade him. I would actually trade Zion. I will find someone and trade him because, again, you just asked a question about, 'Can you trust him to be your franchise guy?' And since he came in the league, no. Because you can't trust that he's gonna be available on the floor." Perk said.

He continued:

"If I'm the Pelicans, I have Brandon Ingram, I have CJ McCollum, I have a bunch of young pieces over there playing extremely hard that has a bright future. I would actually consider trading him this offseason."

It's a bold suggestion, but it could be a possible option for the organization if it doesn't work out in the next few seasons. The only problem for the team is to figure out which teams would be willing to take over Williamson's salary and unavailability.

It's also too early to say whether trading the forward would be the right thing to do or not. After all, he's only 22, and things could start to get better for him after his injuries. The best thing for the Pelicans now is to make sure Williamson is 100% healthy and ready for the 2023-24 NBA season and make up for lost time.
