The Denver Nuggets haven't lived up to expectations this season, relying heavily on star player Nikola Jokic. Meanwhile, former NBA player Kendrick Perkins has proposed a potential trade to make them more dominant.

Perkins, as a guest on "Road Trippin'" on Tuesday, proposed that Denver consider trading for Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox. He said that Fox would be a better complement to Jokic, as he cited Jamal Murray's struggles in providing effective support to Jokic.

"De'Aaron Fox moves the needle more than Jamal Murray. I would keep an eye on that situation over there in Sacramento," Perkins said. "Those reports that came out is not just some reports that just came out. ... This is real stuff that's going on.
"He didn't sign a contract extension. De'Aaron Fox is a serious upgrade from Jamal Murray. You put him alongside Jokic and watch the magic they gonna do together."

Jamal Murray has seen his numbers drop this season. He is averaging 19.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game although he has been struggling with injuries his numbers aren't his usual standards.

Despite his efforts to assist Nikola Jokic offensively, he has failed to do so with consistency. This has led several analysts to believe that De'Aaron Fox could be the perfect piece for the phenomenal Jokic.

Fox is averaging 26.2 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 6.2 apg. His ability to create for himself and others will take the pressure off Jokic, who appears to be doing it all for the franchise.

Nuggets coach addresses trade rumors involving Michael Porter Jr.

The Denver Nuggets (16-11) are one of the most talked about teams in the ongoing trade market. Rumors have been hovering around how the team can get a reliable player to complement Nikola Jokic.

The Nuggets know that to get a star player, they have to trade off some of their assets. Michael Porter Jr. is in the thick of the rumor, and Denver coach Michael Malone came forward to clear the air.

"Yeah, a lot of it is noise. I don't know where it comes from. You see different things that are out there, and you never want that stuff getting out there. ... I think there's nothing to that."

Porter is averaging 18.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg. Nonetheless, no matter what happens, the team needs to work out the best deal that will maximize Jokic in his prime.
