The 2024-25 NBA regular season will start on October 22, 2024. There are two games scheduled on the opening day and one of them will see the Lakers face the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the Eastern Conference, the Boston Celtics will face the New York Knicks on the same day.
Bronny James can't address father LeBron James as 'dad' in workplace
LeBron James talks about professionalism seriously. The Lakers star will be his son Bronny James' teammate in an unprecedented occurrence in NBA history. However, as glad as LeBron James is to play with his son, he will not compromise on the professional culture within the Lakers' facility.
In a conversation during an episode of "The Shop", James was asked if his son Bronny James was going to address him as 'dad' in the locker room or at practice. The 39-year-old NBA superstar said that Bronny can't call him "dad" in the workplace.
James also suggested that Bronny James could address him as "GOAT" if he wanted to.
"No, we already laid that. No, he can't, we already laid that down," James answered. "Cannot call me 'Dad' in the workplace…He got to call me like, '2-3' or 'Bron' or 'GOAT' if he want to. It's up to him… We cannot be running down the court and he'd be like, 'Dad, push the ball up! Dad, I'm open! Dad, come on.' No you cannot do that."
James sharing the court with his son will not be a historic moment for him but also for the NBA. James has championed many categories in basketball. However, being the first one to play with his son will always remain special.
