On Thursday, Bam Adebayo seemingly named A'ja Wilson as the 2024 WNBA MVP in a post on social media. Wilson has been tearing it up on the court, setting the record for most points in a single WNBA season this week. Following a 27-point outing from the Las Vegas Aces star, which saw her set the record for most points in a single season, Adebayo wrote:
"U’nanimous."
The post caught the attention of fans given that the two have been spotted together throughout the summer. They were seen during training camp for the 2024 Paris Olympics and they then showed off a secret handshake after Wilson and Team USA won MVP. Then, early this month, when Bam Adebayo was getting a key to the city of Miami, Wilson was in the crowd.

A'ja Wilson praises teammates following record-breaking performance that drew Bam Adebayo's attention
On Wednesday, A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces returned to the win column after dropping a narrow 75-71 loss to the New York Liberty on Sunday. Over 34 minutes of action, Wilson posted a double-double, going 11-28 from the floor and 5-7 at the line for a 27-point performance.
In addition, Wilson hauled down 12 boards while adding two steals and three blocks to the box score. The performance saw Wilson set the WNBA single-season scoring record previously held by Jewell Loyd of 939 points.
Following the game, Wilson opened the post-game press conference by tearfully crediting her teammates as being the catalyst to her success. While speaking with the media she explained:
“I don’t want to sound cliché when I say this but, I don’t get any of that without every single teammate along the way. I’m so grateful to be able to play with selfless women. My teammates are the heartbeat. They keep me going. I don’t get any points without them passing me the basketball.
“So the points are great. They’re always going to be there. I’m never going to stop shooting, but the group that we have in this locker room is something that I’m truly so happy to be around.”
Currently, Wilson and the Aces, are seeking their third straight championship, which would make them the second-ever team to three-peat as WNBA champions. With just four games left on their schedule, things are heating up for A'ja Wilson and the Aces.
