The OKC Thunder visited Chase Center on Wednesday night to face the Golden State Warriors. The Thunder were looking to extend their winning streak to three, while the Warriors entered the contest as losers of two in a row. Golden State was coming off back-to-back defeats wherein they blew double-digit leads.
Steph Curry was out for the Warriors with some knee discomfort, while the Thunder had six players on the sidelines, including Chet Holmgren. Coach Steve Kerr went with a different starting lineup with Brandin Podziemski taking Curry's place and Jonathan Kuminga at power forward.
The Thunder survived a furious Warriors rally in the fourth quarter to earn a 105-101 victory. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 35 points as Oklahoma City overcame an injury to Jalen Williams, who missed the entire second half. Kuminga had a team-high 19 points, but Golden State went cold in the final five minutes of the game.

OKC Thunder vs Golden State Warriors Game Summary
The OKC Thunder jumped to an early 12-point lead midway through the first quarter, and it ballooned to a 39-23 at the end of the period. The Golden State Warriors trimmed the lead to just eight at the 7:44 mark of the second quarter.
However, the Thunder went on another run to make a 19-point game. Golden State made a run of their own toward halftime, cutting the lead to just 10 points. They were down 62-50 after the first 48 minutes led by Jonathan Kuminga, who missed the last two games with an illness.
In the third quarter, the OKC Thunder kept the Golden State Warriors at bay before a furious rally made the game more interesting. The Warriors were within striking distance at the 5:33 mark and were just down 84-83 heading into the final quarter.
It became a slugfest in the final period, with Golden State gaining the upper hand until going through a drought midway point of the quarter. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took ever and closed the game at the free throw line.
The Warriors had a chance to tie with under 10 seconds left, but Andrew Wiggins rushed his shot. Golden State has now lost three straight games and dropped to a record of 12-6 for the season. They are now third in the Western Conference standings just behind the Thunder and Houston Rockets.
OKC remained atop the standings with a 14-4 record, but could be facing another injury. Jalen Williams suffered an eye injury and should be considered questionable in their next game. They visit the LA Lakers on Friday night as part of the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup.
