Phoenix Suns legend and current announcer Eddie Johnson criticized former Nuggets coach George Karl for suggesting that he would choose reigning NBA Finals MVP Nikola Jokic over Michael Jordan.

In response to Karl's earlier tweet that Jokic could be the best player he ever saw in basketball, Johnson humorously suggested that Karl might have been under the influence of a "concoction."

Johnson tweeted:

“George, I think Jokic is amazing but seriously what kind of mind-altering concoction are you mixing in your basement?”

In his tweet, Karl said that he has been watching basketball for five decades and has witnessed the greatness of players like Julius Erving, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O'Neal and LeBron James.

“But, at this point, I’m thinking Jokic may be the best player I’ve ever seen play basketball,” he said.

Nikola Jokic has played nine seasons with the Nuggets, amassing averages of 20.9 points, 10.7 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game. He has been chosen for five All-Star games, clinched two MVP awards, secured one Finals MVP award and earned an NBA championship.

Jordan’s resume is more stacked. He played 15 seasons in the league, averaging 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.3 steals.

He participated in 14 All-Star games, received the Rookie of the Year award and earned one Defensive Player of the Year award. He also secured five MVP awards, six championships and six Finals MVP awards. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009.
