The Golden State Warriors beat the Phoenix Suns 109-105 on Saturday behind a stellar defensive effort and clutch free-throw shooting. Golden State did not concede a field goal in the last six minutes and leaned on Dennis Schroder and Jonathan Kuminga on offense down the stretch.

Kevin Durant scored two free throws with 29.2 second remaining to make it 105-104, the last time Phoenix held the lead. Kuminga scored three free throws, including the one that iced the game, while Schroder added two.

Kuminga scored 34 points off the bench to lead the Bay Area team. Steph Curry contributed 22 points, six rebounds and six assists. Schroder had 11 points on 4-for-13 shooting, but made crucial plays.

Phoenix Suns vs Golden State Warriors Game Summary

The Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors met for the second time this season on Saturday. Phoenix, which won 113-105 in the first meeting in late November, hoped to stay unbeaten against the Dubs.

Jonathan Kuminga came out on fire off the bench for the Warriors. The explosive forward scattered 12 first-quarter points to lead the hosts to a 34-27 lead. Steph Curry contributed eight points, three assists and three rebounds.

Bradley Beal scored 10 points in the first eight minutes for the Suns. Kevin Durant took over with 10 points to help Phoenix stay within striking distance.

The Suns outscored the Dubs 30-15 in the first eight minutes of the second quarter to turn a seven-point deficit into a 57-49 lead. With Durant resting, Beal again carried the visitors. He had 12 more points to finish with 22 in the first half. KD stepped up once he played, adding eight points to push the Suns to a 65-61 lead.

Kuminga cooled off in the second quarter, but Draymond Green picked up the slack. The defensive ace led the Dubs with 14 points in the period to prevent the Suns from running away. Curry added seven points for 15 in the first half.

The third quarter was a defensive struggle between the Suns and the Warriors. Phoenix won the period 22-21 to lead 87-82 heading into the fourth quarter. Kevin Durant continued to shine for the visitors, scattering 10 points to lead his team.

The Golden State Warriors prevented the Phoenix Suns from scoring a field goal in the last 6:48 minutes of the game to win 109-105. Dennis Schroder and Jonathan Kuminga drained crucial free throws in the last 30 seconds to push the Dubs to a 109-105 win.
