Just like many families in the United States, D'Angelo Russell and his family are preparing for the holidays. With Thanksgiving officially over, it's time for Christmas as the calendar turns to December. Russell's girlfriend Laura Ivaniukas recently shared a picture of their son Riley starting decorations at their home.

In a post on her Instagram stories, Ivaniukas shared a picture of Riley doing the decorations of their Christmas tree. Riley is the firstborn child of Russell and Ivaniukas. They recently welcomed a daughter named Mila back in August.

"Helloooo December," Ivaniukas wrote as caption.

While December and the holidays are a time for family, D'Angelo Russell will be on the road for the majority of the month. The LA Lakers will play six of their first seven games on the road starting in Utah before a trip to Minneapolis. The Lakers then fly East to visit the Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks.

They are home on Dec. 8 when the Portland Trail Blazers visit the Crypto.com Arena. They then go to northern California for a two-game set in three days at the Golden 1 Center against the Sacramento Kings.

The Lakers will be at home on Dec. 23 to welcome the Detroit Pistons, but are on the road for Christmas Day. They will go up against the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center at that special time. They are also on the road on New Year's Eve in Cleveland.

Life was good for D'Angelo Russell and his girlfriend Lauren Ivaniukas before 2022. However, it changed for the better when they welcomed their son Riley to the world.

Speaking to Marc J. Spears of Andscape, the LA Lakers guard opened up about becoming a father. He said he finally knew what unconditional love meant and their son gave his life a new meaning.

"Before becoming a parent, life seemed complete,' Russell said. "But it was the arrival of Riley that filled every corner of our hearts with a love so deep. It reshaped our world, continuously teaching us patience, resilience, and the true meaning of unconditional love. A new purpose in life, beyond basketball."

The one-time All-Star added:

"Before I had a kid, I always felt like I needed to be a part of my friends' motion and see what they had going on and this and that. And I always realized I was a homebody. So, once I had a kid it allowed me to just settle into being a homebody and focus in on myself and my foundation, my family and the life after basketball and all these different entities."

Russell and Ivaniukas have been dating since 2020 and welcomed their son two years later. They also became proud parents to a daughter, Mila, earlier this year.
