James Harden reflects on LeBron James and Steph Curry showdown on Christmas Day
LeBron James and Steph Curry are some of the most iconic figures in the NBA today. Both players are also the biggest rivals in history, dating back to 2015 when they consistently found themselves matching up in the NBA Finals for four straight seasons.
Curry and James recently reignited their rivalry when the two superstars faced off on Christmas Day this season. The Golden State Warriors took on the LA Lakers, wherein the Purple and Gold notched a nail-biting victory after Austin Reaves hit a game-winning layup.
Steph Curry had a brilliant scoring performance, posting 38 points in an attempt to win the duel against LeBron James. As for the King, he notched a double-double performance by adding 31 points and 10 assists.
After witnessing another legendary duel between the two stars, fellow future Hall of Famer James Harden reflected on their showdown. Harden revealed that he got to talk to Steph about his Christmas game against LeBron and how fans should cherish these moments while they still can.
"It was amazing," Harden said. "Me and Steph was talking about that after the game as well. We love to hoop. Father Time is undefeated, it's a real thing. For us, I know LeBron probably feel the same way, we love the game of basketball."
"I hope the fans and people that really enjoy basketball, love the game of basketball, can embrace and cherish these moments, coz once players like us are gone, it's like, I don't know, we'll never see them again," Harden continued. "But we love the game. We hope you guys do too."
Steph Curry is turning 37 years old this coming March 2025. Based on how he has performed so far this year, he isn't showing any signs of retiring anytime soon. However, considering how close he is to turning 40 years old, it's only a matter of time until "Chef" Curry decides to retire.
