On Saturday, Doncic, dealing with a wrist injury, spoke about being a girl dad as his daughter turned one. He said (per Dallas reporter Abby Jones):

“It's the best thing in the world being a dad, just coming home every day. I mean, not every day, but when we're home, it's the best thing in the world.”
“Just helps with everything, not just basketball.”

During the 2024 NBA Finals, Gabriela was one of her father’s biggest fans, sporting a customized Luka Doncic jersey with her mom Anamaria. Gabriela's jersey even featured "tata," the Slovenian word for "father," embroidered on the number on the back.

The jerseys also incorporated Dallas-themed elements like "I ❤️DAL" and more.

"This is really a life-changing thing for the better, and there’s nothing happier than this, and because of that, I’m the happiest man in the world.”

The Mavericks lost to the Celtics in five games, but Doncic put up a fight, averaging 29.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists in his first NBA Finals appearance.
