Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen shared a meme about Kobe Bryant on Instagram, captioning it with a nod to Bryant's "Mamba Mentality." However, fans quickly criticized him for seemingly continuing a pattern of ignoring his former Bulls teammate, Michael Jordan.
The meme featured Bryant with the same expression whether he was happy or sad. Pippen's caption read:
“Mamba mentality 🐍 No days off.”
Fans took to the comments to poke fun at Scottie Pippen, noting his apparent avoidance of mentioning Jordan.

“Pippen managing to post everyone but the guy who won him 6 rings,” one said.
“If Kobe had a mamba mentality, then Jordan's a Viper! Deadliest snake of all time!” another said.
“Scottie hop off Kobe meat,” another added.
Here are other fan reactions to Pippen’s post:
Scottie Pippen and Jordan’s relationship has worsened since playing days together on the Bulls, especially after the release of "The Last Dance" documentary, where Pippen criticized Jordan for being condescending. The tension between the two has been further complicated by the fact that Jordan’s son, Marcus, dated Pippen’s ex-wife, Larsa.
Larsa and Scottie were married in 1997, but their relationship hit a rough patch, eventually leading to their separation in December 2021. The age gap between Larsa and Marcus when they dated was 16 years.
Dominique Wilkins urges Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan to bury the hatchet
Atlanta Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins has urged Scottie Pippen to set aside his grudge against Michael Jordan, as Pippen continued to make critical remarks about his former teammate.
When Jordan and Pippen were inducted into the Hall of Fame, they praised each other. However, their relationship only deteriorated in the years that followed.
In an interview with VladTV, Wilkins reflected on the legendary Bulls team that won six NBA championships, acknowledging the greatness of both Jordan and Pippen while emphasizing that their success was a collective effort.
“Would Jordan win six rings without Scottie? Probably not, but at the same time, you don't even get in that position without MJ, period. I mean, anybody who knows the game, looking like, and anybody who played against Mike, you know how fierce of a competitor he was,” Wilkins said.
Wilkins expressed his opinion that Jordan is the greatest player when considering all-around skills, and he also suggested that he and Pippen should reconcile and put their differences aside.
“You know, sometimes everybody wants to be the king, and everybody can't, you know. Like I said, whatever issue that he got going, them two got going, I mean, ability to make some sense. You talk about 20, 30 years removed, come on, you gotta let go of that stuff, man, because what are you going to accomplish out of it, really? What do you get out of it?” he added.
