In some circles, Kevin Durant is known as "Slim Reaper," a nickname that pays tribute to his deadly scoring that transcends his relatively thin frame. Durant, however, has no qualms with calling out other athletes that, in his mind, need to beef up.

KD engaged in this type of trash talk when he entered the locker room of the Washington Commanders, his hometown's NFL team, on Saturday. The Commanders had just defeated the Detroit Lions 45-31 to advance to the NFC championship game.

In an Instagram story posted by Commanders cornerback Mike Sainristil, Durant had a special message for Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs.

"Jahmyr, put your buffs on," Durant said, drawing cheers from Sainristil and other Washington players.

From the looks of it, Durant was pretty thrilled to see his Commanders move one step closer to clinching a spot in this year's Super Bowl. However, as the divisional round game progressed, the two-time NBA Finals MVP found that he had another bone to pick with Gibbs.

After the running back scored the game's first touchdown, he whipped out some dance moves that looked similar to Durant's.

On the part of Gibbs, he must have been aware that Durant had publicly predicted a Washington win leading up to the divisional round. Durant, of course, ended up having the last laugh as the Lions were eliminated by his Commanders.

Kevin Durant to online critic: "I'm not a tennis player"

Aside from football, well-known hoops savant Kevin Durant invoked another sport over the past 48 hours. He did so in the context of responding to a naysayer on X, a platform where the four-time scoring champ loves to respond to heated criticism.

On Saturday, one netizen took this verbal shot at Durant:

"It’s real simple. You’re not a leader. You can’t get it done on your own. You ran to GS and Steph got you both of those rings."

Just three minutes later, KD returned fire.

"We play team sports. I'm not a tennis player," Durant wrote.

This is certainly not the first, nor will it be the last, critique that Durant has read online about his legacy. However, judging by the swiftness and decisiveness of his rebuttal, Kevin Durant is completely accustomed to the relentless environment known as social media.
