An issue with LA Lakers rookie Quincy Olivari's page on ESPN caught the attention of his mom, Courtney. Olivari's player page displayed his teammate and fellow rookie Dalton Knecht.

This might have been due to a glitch or a slight error. Regardless, Courtney Olivari offered to help ESPN address the issue. On Tuesday, she shared a screenshot of her son's page and a photo of him on X (formerly Twitter).

She also tweeted the following message:

"Seems like @ESPN doesn’t have a thumbnail pic for my son," Courtney Olivari wrote. "Please allow me to help you out. Use this one…"

Quincy Olivari becomes emotional after meeting his childhood idol

The LA Lakers and the Golden State Warriors concluded their preseason against each other on Friday. The game might have meant nothing more than a warmup for both squads' veterans. However, it ended up becoming special for rookie Quincy Olivari.

Olivari's favorite player, Steph Curry, did not play in that game. However, he was present and took the time to speak with Olivari after the game. The Laker rookie was then asked about that moment in the postgame press conference.

He said it was a crazy experience because he'd been a Curry fan since sixth grade. After saying that, his voice started to crack and he began to wipe tears from his eyes.

"I don't even know what to say, 'coz that's my favorite player ever," Olivari continued. "First thing he told me was 'I'm a big fan of your game,' and truth be told I'm a big fan of him. I had his jersey, he signed it twice, I used to sleep under that jersey."

He also shared that the two of them continued to talk backstage where Curry gave him a pair of signed sneakers. Olivari said that this gesture "meant the world to him."

As he continued talking about meeting his favorite player, Olivari visibly got more emotional. Eventually, he paused to wipe away his tears and compose himself.

Olivari, who went undrafted in the 2024 draft, had a stellar game with his idol in attendance. He was the only player from either team to score over 20 points, registering 22. He had an 8-for-16 shooting clip, including 5-for-9 from downtown. Additionally, he grabbed seven rebounds.

Despite his solid contributions, the Warriors won the game by a landslide with a final score of 132-74. That victory also meant that Golden State ended their preseason with an undefeated record of 6-0.
