Brailey Dizney, the girlfriend of Houston Rockets rookie guard Reed Sheppard, recently reacted to his "thirst traps" on social media. Sheppard has had a tough time in his rookie season in the NBA, barely getting minutes for the Rockets and spending time in the G League.

In a post on her Instagram Stories, Dizney shared a reel of her boyfriend's stint with the Rio Grande Vipers. The Rockets recalled Sheppard after just three games, in which he averaged 30.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 2.7 steals on 46/41/100 shooting splits.

"Get outta here w the third traps," Dizney wrote.

Reed Sheppard and Brailey Dizney have been together since 2020, celebrating their fourth anniversary last October. They are both from London, Kentucky, but attended different high schools. Sheppard is a product of North Laurel High School, while Dizney went to South Laurel High School.

Dizney has been very supportive of Sheppard's basketball career at North Laurel, as well as in college during his one year at Kentucky. He was picked No. 3 by the Houston Rockets in the 2024 NBA draft.

However, it has been an up-and-down tenure for Sheppard, who stole the spotlight at Summer League and in the preseason. He has barely gotten any minutes this season due to the Rockets' deep backcourt situation.

Houston even had to send him to the NBA G League to get him playing time and build his confidence as the season progresses.

The Rockets are sitting second in the Western Conference standings, just behind the OKC Thunder. They have made the leap from being fringe play-in contenders to a team that might make a deep postseason run.

Speaking to the Houston Chronicle after being recalled by the Rockets, Reed Sheppard opened up about his stint in the NBA G League. Sheppard appreciated getting to play a full game again, even though it wasn’t in the NBA. He’s happy to get the reps, learn and called it a "fun" experience.

"I think I learned a lot," Sheppard said. "I think the biggest thing was just getting my confidence back, going down and being able to get up and down the court. Kind of play free, play loose, really, just play the game of basketball and enjoy it."
"You know, the NBA is different. There's a lot of great players, so being able to go down and get some reps and just get the confidence back up and stuff, it was a lot of fun this week."

Sheppard is third on the Rockets' point guard depth chart behind starter Fred VanVleet and backup Aaron Holiday.
