There's no question that Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors revolutionized basketball with his exceptional shooting, but a moment during their game against the LA Lakers on Saturday took defending him to a whole new level.
Dorian Finney-Smith of the LA Lakers took it a step further when he shoved teammate Gabe Vincent to try to defend Curry's shot on Saturday night. Vincent was going through screens during the play, making it difficult for him to chase the Warriors superstar.
Finney-Smith, who is in the third year of a $55.5 million contract, noticed how wide open Curry was, so he decided to give Vincent a little nudge. The move worked, as Steph Curry missed the 3-point shot, with Vincent nearly tumbling into the courtside seats.

Fans online reacted to the hilarious moment, with some even comparing it to when Kyle Kuzma shoved LeBron James for not playing defense. Kuzma once pushed James into contesting a 3-point attempt in a game against the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019.
"Remember when Kuz did this to 'Bron?" a fan tweeted.
"Reminds me of 2019-2020 Kuz pushing 'Bron," one fan commented.
"He on Kuz timing," another fan remarked.
Here are other reactions to the hilarious moment.
"Gabe just couldn’t get in the right spot the whole possession," a fan wrote.
"That’s what you do in competitive basketball. Sometimes you gotta push your teammate to where they are supposed to be," one fan claimed.
"They should’ve done that to Rui in the playoffs," another fan quipped.
Kuzma was traded by the Lakers to the Washington Wizards ahead of the 2021-22 NBA season as part of the Russell Westbrook deal. Finney-Smith, meanwhile, was acquired in late December from the Brooklyn Nets.
Steph Curry gets blamed for not having a second star
One of the biggest concerns for the Golden State Warriors this season is that they don't have a legitimate second scoring option behind Curry. Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga are doing an admirable job, but the Warriors would be a much better team if they had a second star.
ESPN's Stephen A. Smith blames Curry for not wanting the front office to make the moves to improve the team.
"He’s cooperative," Smith said, according to NBC Sports Bay Area. "Let’s call it what it is. He’s the one that was quoted saying, 'Look, I wouldn’t be hasty. We don’t have to make a move.' I’m not punishing him, I’m just answering the question directly. I have nothing in this game."
Steph Curry and the Warriors have less than two weeks left before the trade deadline. They are currently 11th in the Western Conference with a 22-22 record.
