The status of Anthony Davis in LA moving forward has been a big topic lately and recent reports suggest a big change could happen. One insider believes the All-Star big man could be traded in the very near future.

When LeBron James broke the scoring record, a viral video went around of AD's reaction on the bench. While the rest of the LA Lakers were celebrating, he was sitting alone sulking. Davis was later asked about this and responded by saying he was upset that the team was losing.

Following the interesting reaction to such a historic moment, FS1's Colin Cowherd reported that LeBron James isn't happy with Davis and it could result in a trade. He mentions the Dallas Mavericks as a potential landing spot.

“I talked to an NBA source who I’ve known for a long time, he said the Dallas Mavericks and Anthony Davis, keep your eye on it… Anthony Davis is pouting, LeBron’s holding him accountable, LeBron’s not happy with him.”

Seeing that the LA Lakers just completely reshaped their roster at the trade deadline, it's clear they are willing to move anyone. If LeBron James is truly unhappy with Davis, it could lead to the team shopping the former No. 1 pick.

The most interesting thing about what Cowherd said is bringing up the Dallas Mavericks. At this point, the only way they could get a deal like this done is via a sign-and-trade with Kyrie Irving. It's also worth noting that LeBron pushed for the Lakers to make a move for Irving when he requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets.

Comments like this could be a bigger play to get LeBron and Irving reunited in LA. While Anthony Davis helped the organization win a title, he has failed to stay on the floor consistently.

Looking at AD's contract, he is on the books for the next two seasons at over $40 million a year. There is no denying that he is still a high-impact player, but his health is a major question. Because of this, he might not be the best running mate for a 38-year-old in his 20th season.

LeBron has been the one person to get the most out of Kyrie Irving, which might interest the Lakers to take a gamble like this. The main factor to watch in all of this is how things work between Kyrie and Luka Doncic in Dallas.
