Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green and Minnesota Timberwolves star center Rudy Gobert have had a growing feud over the past few years. When Green infamously punched his teammate Jordan Poole in practice in October, Gobert was one player who called Green out on Twitter. “Insecurity is always loud,” Gobert tweeted at the time.

So, when Gobert proceeded to punch his teammate Kyle Anderson on Sunday versus New Orleans, Green made sure to remind Gobert about his past comments. Green did so by simply retweeting Gobert’s old comment with an ellipsis at the end:

“Insecurity is always loud …,” Green tweeted.

Green’s tweet caused NBA Twitter to erupt, with many fans making jokes about his revenge on Gobert:

“Revenge is a dish best served cold,” one fan said.

“Bro had that in the drafts,” another said.

Despite dealing with controversy, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated New Orleans 113-108 on Sunday. However, the win was still overshadowed by Rudy Gobert’s punch of teammate Kyle Anderson late in the second quarter. This came as Gobert was sent home due to the altercation. Following the game, Wolves president and general manager Tim Connelly spoke about the incident, explaining that Minnesota will handle it internally:

"We made the decision to send Rudy Gobert home after the incident in the second quarter," Connelly said.

"His behavior on the bench was unacceptable, and we will handle the situation internally."

Minnesota was led by star big man Karl-Anthony Towns on Sunday with 30 points, eight rebounds, and five 3-pointers on 52.6% shooting. Star shooting guard Anthony Edwards added 26 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, four steals, and four blocks on 38.1% shooting.

Meanwhile, New Orleans was led by star wing Brandon Ingram with 42 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and two steals on 57.1% shooting.

Despite the game being the last game of the season for both teams, it still had strong playoff implications. This comes as the Wolves’ victory helped them tie the Pelicans, with both teams finishing the season 42-40. Minnesota also won its season series against New Orleans 2-1 to secure the tiebreaker. The Wolves leapfrogged the Pelicans into the eighth seed, with New Orleans dropping to ninth.

The Wolves will now take on the seventh-seeded LA Lakers (43-39) in the seventh versus eighth-place play-in matchup in LA on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, New Orleans will host the 10th-placed OKC Thunder (40-42) in the ninth versus 10th-place play-in matchup on Wednesday night.
