Orlando Magic guard R.J. Hampton recently hosted his teammate Cole Anthony on his podcast, Young Person Basketball Podcast with R.J. Hampton. Among the topics discussed were celebrity crushes.
Anthony began by stating:
"I DM'ed Chantal Jeffries and was hoping for a response. This was years ago though, not no more, I ain't on that... I DM'ed Iggy Azalea and was hoping to God she replied. I used to have the biggest plan. If I was like a top five pick in the draft, I was publicly going to be like, 'yo, Iggy Azalea, what's up?' This was all in high school."
Hampton responded, saying:

"Mine was in high school. Mine was Ariana Grande and Zendaya. I used to DM them probably everyday."
Anthony followed that up by claiming that he heard his teammate DM'ed the 'Cash Me Outside' girl, leading Hampton to claim:
"Never ever in my life."
While they were often ignored by their celebrity crushes in their high school years, now that they are in the NBA, it is likely that Hampton and Anthony are the ones ignoring DMs.

Cole Anthony tells R.J. Hampton his strategy for sending DMs
After discussing which celebrities they had crushes on in their high school years, R.J. Hampton asked his teammate Cole Anthony about his strategy for sending DMs. The Orlando Magic guard responded:
"The one I've used that just didn't work, it was like, 'hey, he told me I should DM you'... and then another one was, I'd put like a dog emoji in there and then be like, 'oops, sorry about that, my boy just be running off sometimes, but what's up with you though?'... and then if it's like an elite joint it's like, 'hey, next time you're in such and such, dinner in Orlando on me."
Hampton questioned his teammate's initial strategy of sending DMs, asking who 'he' is. Anthony clarified that he would tell the girls that he was sending DMs that 'he' was God. Both Anthony and Hampton were first-round picks in the 2020 NBA Draft, having been selected 15th and 24th overall, respectively. Both young guards have seen a decrease in minutes in their third season.
