Russell Westbrook’s wife Nina Westbrook cheered on the UCLA Bruins with her daughter on Wednesday. She captured a photo of her daughter looking at the Bruins’ huddle in a collegiate women’s basketball game.
Nina captioned the photo with two words as it showed how the family remains huge fans of UCLA sports after years of being away from it.
“Go bruins,” Nina Westbrook wrote.

The Bruins remained undefeated after their game on January 1 against the Michigan Wolverines. UCLA is the current top-seed in the Big 10 after winning all 14 of its games so far.
Nina grew up in Los Angeles and played for the UCLA women’s basketball team from 2007 to 2011. Her husband and current Denver Nuggets star Russell Westbrook also played with the Bruins around 2006 to 2008.
Russell and Nina met at UCLA before starting dating in 2007, almost a year before Westbrook was drafted by the Seattle Supersonics, now known as the OKC Thunder, in the 2008 NBA Draft.
The NBA star, who won MVP in 2017 with the Thunder, married Nina in August 2015 at a hotel in Los Angeles. The couple had three children together, namely their eldest, Noah, and their twin daughters Jordyn and Skye Westbrook.
Russell Westbrook played for his home town LA from 2021 to 2024, jumping from the Lakers to the Clippers, before signing with the Nuggets in the past offseason.
Russell Westbrook and Nina used to play together at UCLA when they started dating
Knowing the ins and outs of basketball, Nina has been very supportive of her husband Russell Westbrook’s basketball career. But before he became the NBA’s triple-double leader and one of the greatest point guards of all time, Russell used to share sweet moments with his wife on the court.
In an interview with Access Hollywood in 2020, Nina Westbrook revealed that they played together during their time together studying at UCLA. She even recalled that Russell used to lose against her in pickup basketball games.
"The beginning of our relationship was really fun…We used to play together all the time. I'd beat Russell in one-on-one. I had to stop playing him because he became a cheater. If the only way you can beat me is by cheating, we don't need to play anymore," Nina Westbrook said about Russell Westbrook.
This season, Westbrook has been showing off with the Nuggets, averaging 12.2 points 4.4 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game. He has also been impactful on the defensive end, tallying 1.7 steals and 0.5 blocks per game.
To end 2024, Westbrook even tallied a perfect triple-double in the Nuggets' win against the Jazz where he recorded 16 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, with zero turnovers on 7-of-7 shooting from the field.
